Little Neighbourhood's Philosophy
At Little Neighbourhood, we believe children are competent creators of their own paths; they are strong, capable and full of potential. Children are born with the natural curiosity and wonder which compels them to explore the world and their place within it. And our intent is to guide them to develop their foundational skills. So they know they can become their most happy confident self.
Children are active meaningful makers who build knowledge through hands-on experiences that uses all their senses. Therefore our center is designed to be inviting and neatly organized. They can then freely explore their curiosity, learning and creations. A place where their work is valued.
Families have the most important role in contributing to children's well-being and learning. They are the primary caregivers and their first teachers. We encourage families to actively engage in their child's learning experience too. We invite everyone to ask themselves:
"Do you have the courage to be open to the unexpected and the unpredictable?"

A little bit about Ms. Betty
Ms. Betty was born and raised in Vancouver, B.C, even though she was born in Canada her first language was Cantonese.
Her desire to teach began when her younger brother was born. At five years old, she was cradling her baby brother and
she whispered, "I will teach you the whole world". And throughout the years she studied interior design, event planning, education and
business, but she somehow always manage to come back to teaching. Ms. Betty has taught in many different
settings including daycares, preschools, montessori, elementary schools, big sister programs and even on
cruise ships travelling around the world. She soon realize her passion was to teach life skills and more
importantly self-love to those around her.
The best opportunity to learn is now; we just need to be curious with the desire to learn.
As she build her years of experiences with hard work and dedication (and COVID) it was time to begin
a new adventure, when she found Little Neighbourhood; a place created for all children to
come together to learn, to laugh and be inspired by each other's gifts.
